AroundTable helps people find others to play tabletop games with. You can browse listings, express interest in a game, create your own listings, and organise private groups.

Getting started
What is AroundTable?
Do I need an account to browse listings?
No. Visitors can browse public listings. Some details, including full availability, timezone, travel distance and member profiles, are available only after you sign in and verify your email address. You also need an active account to interact with other users.
Why do I need to verify my email address?
Email verification is required before you can use features that interact with other members, such as creating listings or groups, sending requests, accepting invitations and reporting content. It also helps reduce disposable accounts and abuse.
What do I need on my profile before creating a listing?
Your profile needs a timezone, a location, and at least one language you can play in. Your timezone helps other players interpret your availability, especially for online games. Your city-level location supports nearby in-person matching and approximate distance calculations, while your languages show what languages you are comfortable playing in. If something is missing, AroundTable will send you to your Profile so you can complete it before continuing.
Profile, games and privacy
Does AroundTable support games other than TTRPGs?
Yes. AroundTable supports tabletop games more broadly. TTRPGs can use role and detailed TTRPG experience, while other tabletop games use a simpler familiarity model and are treated as Player where a role is needed. AroundTable uses the fields that fit the type of game rather than forcing every game into TTRPG-specific questions.
Why does AroundTable need my timezone?
Your timezone is not used to determine where you are. It is shown alongside listing availability so people in different regions can understand when you are usually available, which is especially useful for online games. A timezone can also differ from your current location, so AroundTable keeps it as a separate profile setting.
Are my contact details visible on my public profile?
No. Contact methods saved on your Profile are private. When you accept an interest request, you choose which of your saved contact details to share with that requester. You can optionally let AroundTable prepare the same unchanged contact methods when you connect with the same person again; you can still review or change them before accepting.
How does AroundTable use my personal information?
AroundTable uses personal information to operate the service, support matchmaking, keep accounts secure, handle moderation and respond to you. It does not sell personal information or use advertising or tracking cookies.
Where can I read the rules for using AroundTable?
The Terms of Service explain account eligibility, acceptable use, listings and groups, safety, moderation, account closure, service availability and the legal relationship between you and AroundTable.
Does AroundTable use cookies?
Yes, but only functional cookies and similar storage needed for things such as sessions, login, security and interface preferences. AroundTable does not currently use advertising cookies, tracking cookies or privacy-invasive analytics, so it does not show a cookie-consent banner.
What happens if I delete my account?
Account deletion is permanent. Your resources and data are deleted. If you own active groups, deleting your account also dissolves those groups and deletes their listings, so AroundTable shows an additional warning before deletion.
Location and distance
Why does AroundTable need my location, and what does it store?
Your location is used for nearby in-person matching, approximate distance filtering and useful city defaults when creating or finding games. AroundTable stores your city and country together with the city’s reference point for those calculations. It does not need or store your home address.
How does Location Services use my current location?
Your browser provides your current device coordinates so GeoNames can resolve them to a nearby city. AroundTable does not store those device coordinates. Profile Location Services changes your saved location only after you confirm the detected city. Listings and group creation can also use a detected city for that action only without replacing your saved Profile location.
How does distance filtering work?
Distance is calculated between city reference points, not exact addresses, so it is intentionally approximate. In-person results can be grouped by the selected radius, with a small “a little farther away” section when useful. Listings that can also be played online are kept separate from purely local matches.
Listings
What is the difference between Online, In person and Either?
Online means the game is intended for remote play. In person uses a city and travel distance. Either means the game can work locally or online, so it may appear in both location-aware and online results where appropriate.
Can I temporarily stop receiving requests?
Yes. Pause the listing from My listings. A paused listing is kept for you but is no longer publicly available. You can resume it later unless another rule prevents reactivation.
Why can’t I change some details on my listing?
Some core fields are locked after a request has been accepted so the basic game people agreed to cannot be silently changed afterward. Staff can also temporarily lock editing when a listing needs moderation or correction.
How are group listings different from personal listings?
A group listing is published on behalf of a private group and is managed by the group owner. Its game comes from the group. A group may keep multiple paused listings, but only one group listing can be active at a time.
Requests and expressing interest
What happens when I express interest in a listing?
AroundTable asks you to review the experience or familiarity information relevant to that game and lets you add an optional introduction. The listing owner then receives a request they can review, accept or decline.
Does sending a request reveal my private contact details?
No. Your private contact values are not sent just because you express interest. If the listing owner accepts your request, the owner chooses which of their own saved contact details to share with you. If they previously shared contact details with you and enabled contact reuse, AroundTable may prepare those same unchanged methods for the owner to review before accepting.
Can I withdraw a request and send it again?
You can withdraw a pending request. There is a short waiting period before the same withdrawn request can be sent again, which helps prevent repeated notifications and accidental request spam.
Can a listing owner undo an acceptance?
Only briefly. An acceptance can be cancelled during the allowed cancellation period and only while the requester has not yet viewed the accepted response. After that, the acceptance cannot be undone through AroundTable.
Groups
Are groups public?
No. Groups are private workspaces for their members. They are not a public directory. Public group-owned listings can identify that they are being posted on behalf of a group without exposing the private group workspace.
How do group invitations work?
The group owner can invite an existing AroundTable user by username or email address. If no account exists for an email address, AroundTable can send an email invitation so that person can create an account and continue from the invitation. Pending invitations can expire, be cancelled or be resent when allowed.
Who manages a group, and how can ownership change?
The group owner manages the group details, invitations, members and group listings. Members can leave the group themselves, but the owner cannot simply leave while still owning it. The owner can ask an existing member to take ownership; nothing changes until that member accepts, after which the previous owner remains a normal member.
What happens when a group is dissolved?
The group disappears for its participants, active group listings are paused, and pending invitations are cancelled. Dissolving a group is an owner action and normal users cannot restore it themselves.
Notifications and safety
Where can I see all my notifications?
Use the bell for recent notifications or open Notifications from your account menu for the full page. Informational notifications can be deleted. A notification that still requires an action cannot be deleted until that action is no longer pending.
Why have some of my old notifications disappeared?
AroundTable does not keep ordinary notification history forever. Non-actionable notifications are automatically removed after 35 days. A notification that still requires an outstanding action can remain until that action is no longer pending.
How do reports work?
Signed-in users with a verified email can report a user from their public profile or a listing from the listing page. Choose the reason that best fits and include only the details staff need. The report goes to AroundTable staff for review; submitting one does not automatically suspend an account, hide a listing or otherwise punish the reported person.
Suspended or restricted accounts
Why is my account restricted?
Your account may be temporarily restricted because your username needs review or replacement, or because the account has been suspended by AroundTable staff. The page you are redirected to explains the restriction that currently applies.
What can I do if my username is restricted?
Open Username management and follow the reason shown there. A reserved username may be waiting for approval; if AroundTable requires a replacement, choose another valid username. Your normal site access returns once the username requirement has been resolved.
What can I do if my account is suspended?
A suspension blocks ordinary interaction with other users and prevents you from managing listings, groups, requests, invitations or staff tools. You can still sign in, view the suspension details, access essential account security, read Help and notifications, and contact AroundTable staff. If you believe the suspension is incorrect or need clarification, use the Contact page.
Troubleshooting
Why does a listing, group or notification link say the page is not available?
The item may have been paused, dissolved, removed, made unavailable, or you may no longer have permission to see it. For private resources such as groups, AroundTable deliberately avoids revealing whether a resource exists when you do not have access to it.
Why can’t AroundTable find my location?
Browser location can be denied, unavailable, slow or only approximate, and city search can occasionally be unavailable. Check your browser’s location permission and the detected city. You can always choose your city manually instead of using device location.
I still need help. What should I do?
Use the Contact page and choose the category that best matches your question or problem. If something went wrong on a particular page, include enough detail to identify what you were trying to do, but do not send passwords or unnecessary private information.
